About Me and This Blog

“The only way that we can live, is if we grow. The only way that we can grow is if we change. The only way that we can change is if we learn. The only way we can learn is if we are exposed. And the only way that we can become exposed is if we throw ourselves out into the open. Do it. Throw yourself.”
~ C. JoyBell C.

I used to be a negative thinker and a complainer.

I hated some of my relatives because they mistreated us. I also despised some of my friends because they belittled me.

We were only living in a house we didn't own. My father was the sole breadwinner of the family and we needed to borrow money from a loan agency to run our small store. We often asked help from some of our friends and relatives when we faced financial difficulties. I was ashamed of myself because I couldn't do anything to help my family. That negatively affected my self-esteem.

I didn't want to hear my father’s complaints, so most of the time I stayed at my friend’s house. I was doing this because I thought that this would give me peace of mind and happiness. This lasted for about a year or two until I finally realized my mistakes, started to accept the reality and decided to do something about it.

“They always say time changes things, but you actually have to change them yourself.”
~ Andy Warhol, The Philosophy of Andy Warhol

I worked as a service crew for a few years to support my family. I am a college undergraduate so finding a stable job wasn't that easy. But that didn't stop from switching career paths. Luckily, I was able to be part of the corporate world. After 6 years of working in Digital Marketing Companies, I decided to go freelance.

I wrote down my goals on my journal to help me focus. I changed my lifestyle, worked hard, prayed a lot to God and learned to use positive affirmations to maintain good attitude and to keep myself focused on my goals.

It’s not that easy for me because the people around me were not supportive. But thanks to the power of prayer because it was what helped me manage my responsibilities, understand my situation and endure during times of trials such as the unexpected death of my father and the unstable health of my mother. Aside from maintaining a solid relationship with God and using positive affirmations, I learned to forgive the people who wronged us and that gave me renewed strength and power to go on with my life.

“Try not to become a man of success. Rather become a man of value.”
~ Albert Einstein

Years passed and I still can’t believe that I am enjoying a life that I used to only dream about. Also, I’m glad that my mom is steadily recovering. This is more than what I asked for. Though I have come a long way, I believe that this is not the end of my journey because the best is yet to come.

“If we have no peace, it is because we have forgotten that we belong to each other.”
~ Mother Teresa

I want to thank God for his continuous support, and I want to do this by being good to others. I think that it is through this blog that I can fulfill that. Most of the articles here are written based on my own experience. My goal here is to inspire others to be their best and achieve their goals.
